Summary Job Title: Journeyman Electrician ForemanDepartment: ProductionReports to: Plant ManagerLocation: Detroit Lakes, MNJob posting will close on August 7th, 2024.Summary The primary role is to supervise the daily activities of a section in the physical plant in production operations to ensure efficient workflow, adherence to standards and policies and timely completion of jobs that will support company goals and initiatives. In the journeyman electrician role, you will train and perform electrical work and inspection on wiring, fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components. You will replace and repair electrical equipment and devices as required. You must maintain a deep understanding of building code regulations to check and ensure compliance with the highest standards of building design and construction. Success in this role will be demonstrated by employing effective process controls to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical systems.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Schedules and supervises production workers of the Finish End or Rough End. Primary oversight will be the electrical department in addition to other production departments. Read and interpret electrical blueprints. Answer any questions that employees may have about electrical systems and components and demonstrate the correct process. Assures that production operations supervised are stated properly according to the specification sheets and blueprints to avoid costly errors. Determines priorities and revises scheduling or assignment of duties as a result of absenteeism or other unplanned circumstances to keep production at optimum level. Maintains established production and quality standards. Assures that materials needed for production are available on time and in adequate quantity. Recognizes and resolves operating problems promptly to minimize their effect on production schedules or quality. Maintains machinery and equipment used under his/her supervision in good running order and arranges for repairs promptly as needed. Maintains current and accurate records on production, work performance, and employee attendance. Enforces compliance with safety rules and regulations, directs other in safe and effective use of tools and takes prompt corrective action concerning any potential safety hazard. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment. Maintains good housekeeping practices which facilitate efficient operation as well as employee safety and morale. Performs other related duties as assigned. Journeyman Electrician Job Requirements Relevant hands-on experience preferred. 5+ years of experience as an electrician; extensive experience in both commercial and residential work is a plus Completed a 4-year apprenticeship program. Journeyman electrician license or certification preferred or equivalent experience In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, wiring schematics Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety standards Strong analytical and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must maintain continued education credits.
