PLC Programmer
Position Overview
Control Stuff Inc is looking for an experienced Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programmer.
This position will be responsible for designing, writing, and integrating automation and
control systems involving Allen Bradley PLCs. Must be able to create and read logic and
flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.
This is a hybrid, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position offering a complete benefits package, including PTO, 401K with a company match, health, and dental insurance.
Control Stuff Inc is an automation and control systems integrator located in Cologne, MN. Established in 1992, Control Stuff has been providing Automation and Control Systems solutions worldwide for over 30 years.
Essential Job Functions
Write and develop code for Allen Bradley PLC/HMI systems.
Program and troubleshoot automation & control programs.
Create and read logic and flow diagrams.
Develop overall PLC control logic for application and system programs.
Create documentation for new and existing programs.
Provide technical support to the customer on various automation products and systems on or off site.
Travel to customer facilities for project meetings, design reviews, start-up training and follow-up review.
Assist in the testing and quality checks of control systems to ensure they meet design and project specifications.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum two-year degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent education/experience to include applicable military service in an electrical field/area.
Must have PLC experience, preferably with Allen Bradley PLCs.
Must have HMI experience, preferably with Rockwell Software.
Familiar with panel wiring and components.
Knowledge of Basic Networking.
Strong control circuit troubleshooting knowledge required.
Panel checkout experience helpful.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must have a valid Driver’s license.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid US Passport.
Able to travel to destinations in the USA or overseas at very short notice to troubleshoot existing Automation and Control systems.
Physical Demands
Working at site within Safety Guidelines.
Domestic travel (via car or airline) to customer sites, for extended periods of time is required.
Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle and/or feel; lift or carry weights up to 50 Lbs.; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in performing assignments.
Extended hours/overtime may be required on occasion during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
Must be on-call outside of normal working hours.
Must be able to attend work on a daily basis in a regular and timely manner.
