Serves as the primary customer contact during the life of a stormwater maintenance issue from initial request through maintenance work completion or resolution.Duties to include:Receives service requests from the Customer Service Bureau.Conducts site investigations and makes follow-up contact with requesting individuals.Determines feasibility and technical solutions, scope of work, priority, and resource requirements on more complex stormwater infrastructure maintenance and construction issues.Coordinates with Assistant Superintendents of Stormwater Operations to determine schedules and prepares initial tasks and work orders utilizing the Resource Management System.Communicates with citizens and others requesting services to provide information on the scope of maintenance work, scheduling, and provide status updates as required.May attend Civic League meetings to provide citizens with information and to capture their concerns.The City offers a generous benefits package, which includes health, dental and life insurance, retirement and savings plans, maternity/paternity and parental leave, holidays and Paid-Time-Off - and more.Apply today!Official City Job Description:https://virginia-beach-departments-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/city/job-descriptions-pay-plans/Planner-Estimator-II-01484.pdfWorking Conditions:https://workingcondition-summary-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/B.000960.3.pdfMinimum Requirements:MINIMUMS: Requires any combination of education (above the high school or GED level) and/or experience and training equivalent to eight (8) years in fields providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, and associated with such positions as Operations Maintenance Supervisor or Assistant Superintendent. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. This position may require that incumbents wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, or other designated safety attire and equipment in designated areas of risk.
