Debian Linux Packaging Engineer / Debian DeveloperWe are seeking an experienced Debian Linux Packaging Engineer / Debian Developer with 6-8 years of experience to lead the packaging, maintenance, and lifecycle management of mission-critical software across Linux-based environments. The ideal candidate will be an active Debian Maintainer (DM) or Debian Developer (DD) with strong expertise in Debian packaging, repository management, Linux system administration, automation, and dependency resolution.Key Responsibilities:Build, maintain, and update Debian packages (.deb) in compliance with Debian Policy standards.Manage package uploads, Debian archives, and internal repositories using tools such as apt, reprepro, pbuilder, and sbuild.Troubleshoot complex package dependencies, shared libraries, toolchains, and kernel-related issues.Identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities (CVEs), perform backporting, and coordinate fixes with upstream/downstream communities.Design and automate reproducible package build processes using CI/CD pipelines.Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless software deployment and maintenance.Monitor package quality, compliance, and release management activities.Required Skills:6-8 years of Linux system administration and Debian package management experience.Active Debian Maintainer (DM) or Debian Developer (DD) preferred.Strong experience with Debian packaging tools, repository management, and package lifecycle management.Proficiency in Python, Unix Shell Scripting, and text-processing tools.Strong Linux administration experience (Debian/Ubuntu/Red Hat).Experience with CI/CD, build automation, and version control systems (Git).Deep understanding of package dependencies, shared libraries, and Linux internals.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
