Fiber Optic Splicer

Job Description Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and motivated Fiber Optic Splicer to join our team. The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and troubleshooting fiber networks while maintaining high safety and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode)Prepare and splice fiber cables in closures, cabinets, and splice casesConduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, and troubleshooting of fiber networksRead and interpret splice diagrams, fiber maps, and network plansInstall, maintain, and repair fiber optic systemsDocument splicing results and test dataEnsure all work meets company and industry standardsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environmentQualifications:Previous experience as a Fiber Optic Splicer or similar roleExperience with fusion splicing equipment and fiber testing toolsAbility to read and interpret fiber splice diagrams and construction printsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsValid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to work outdoors and travel to job sites as neededPreferred Qualifications:Experience with aerial and underground fiber installationsKnowledge of OTDR testing and fiber certificationOSHA certification or other safety trainingExperience working on telecom or broadband projectsBenefits:Health insurancePaid time offOvertime opportunitiesCompany vehicle (if applicable)Career growth opportunitiesSchedule:Full-timeMonday to Friday (occasional weekends as needed)
