A nursing role is available at a rehabilitation and long-term care facility specializing in critical illness recovery. This contract position requires a Registered Nurse (RN) skilled in rehab and LTC nursing practices, committed to delivering high-quality patient care.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans.Identify patient and family teaching needs, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to set and achieve goals.Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in accordance with policy.Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units, applying the nursing process to ensure quality patient outcomes.Initiate discharge planning at admission, including patient and family education.Communicate changes in patient status effectively to care providers, including physicians and charge nurses.Provide training, supervision, and direction to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.Maintain personal and environmental safety, adhering to policies focused on patient and employee safety.Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and participate in unit team-building activities.Monitor supplies, equipment, and service needs to support efficient care delivery.Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as needed.Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.Qualifications and Experience:Registered Nurse (RN) license.Experience in rehabilitation and long-term care nursing.Strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills.Commitment to patient and employee safety practices.Effective communication and leadership abilities.Location Overview: This position is based in a dynamic healthcare community in Trussville, AL.
