We are actively seeking a PROJECT ENGINEER (Heavy Construction and Building Construction) for immediate openings in our Chicagoland office, with HQ in Elgin, IL. This Project Engineer position focuses on Heavy Construction (bridge work/infrastructure/plant & process) or Building Construction (school and municipal markets) and is based at either our Elgin, IL corporate office, or a project site in NE Illinois. It is the responsibility of the Project Engineer, whether the focus is on Heavy Construction (bridge work/infrastructure/plant & process) or Building Construction (school and municipal markets) to manage all Project Engineer related duties efficiently & effectively. A successful Project Engineer is an ambitious individual with the desire to advance within the Company. Ideal candidate: -has a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field of study, or has qualifying experience -is willing to work in both a field and office setting -is computer literate and willing to work with multiple project management, estimating, and scheduling software systems -is an ambitious individual with the desire to advance within the Company Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Assist Project Manager and Site Superintendent Submittal Review and Processing Request for Information Processing Requesting Change Order Information from Subcontractors Drawing Documentation Processing Meeting Minutes Pre-Construction Preparation of Scopes Other miscellaneous duties as assigned Qualifications: Strong communication skills -Is well organized with an acute attention to detail Can easily adapt to fluctuations in the workload as needed Is a good listener and acts in a professional manner Is eager to learn and responds in a positive manner to direction and feedback from supervisor Is a team player with a positive attitude and desire to promote a productive work environment Is proficient in PM Software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, HCSS HeavyJob, Viewpoint Vista, P6, AutoCAD and various client specific websites and portals Lives in the Chicagoland area Benefits: -Excellent Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision) -401k with Employer Match and Profit Sharing -Time-off for Pregnancy/Childbirth -Paid Parental Leave IHC has a comprehensive program to fulfill its State & Federal requirements to provide a drug-free work environment.
