Network Wireless Engineer
Overview
In this role, you will design, deploy, and support enterprise WLAN environments for large-scale, complex organisations. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate networking needs into robust wireless solutions and perform site surveys to ensure optimal coverage and performance. You will interpret analytics and incidents to drive improvements, while engaging stakeholders at technical and non-technical levels. The position offers hands-on work with leading wireless technologies and opportunities to influence network strategy and deployment quality.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy and support enterprise WLAN solutionsPerform on-site Wi-Fi surveys and assessmentsAnalyze network analytics, performance data and incident trends to drive improvementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersTravel ad-hoc to National Grid locations for deployment surveys
Key requirementsStrong hands-on experience with enterprise WLAN technologies (Cisco, Aruba)Proficiency with Aruba ClearPass for 802.1X, RADIUS, profiling and role-based accessDeep understanding of RF fundamentals and 802.11 standards (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7)Experience with WLAN authentication methods and policy enginesExperience with enterprise controllers, cloud managed Wi-Fi platformsProficiency with wireless survey tools (Ekahau, Hamina)Experience with Cradlepoint or similar 5G cellular networking platformsExperience in supporting large-scale Wi-Fi environments in complex organisationsAbility to interpret network analytics, performance data and incident trendsExcellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersWillingness to travel for onsite surveysDesirable certifications: CWNP, CCNP/CCIE Wireless, Aruba Expert (ACMP/ACDP/ACCX)Excellent communicationStakeholder engagementAnalytical mindsetAruba ClearPass for 802.1X and RADIUS802.11 standards (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7)RF planning and interference mitigation
