Special Projects Technician

General Purpose:The Special Projects Technician position is to assist in the conversion of commonly stocked firearms into unique offerings that expand our product lines to satisfy public demand for high quality exclusive products. Responsibilities involve assembly, disassembly, modification and inspecting of firearms, maintaining resources such as tools and equipment, and maintaining detailed records.You'll get to:Assemble, disassemble and modify firearms for conversion into new product. Inspect incoming shipments of modified firearms from outside vendors to ensure that they fall within specifications for model, function and finish.Assist the QA inspector to inspect incoming shipments and if necessary existing inventory of firearms to ensure that they fall within specifications for model, function and finish.Coordinate with Technical Services Manager to determine project details and priority as well as appropriate action when faults are found during the course of inspection.Use PC with Excel, e-mail, Word along with inventory and sales program to track and document work done by writing concise description of inspection results and to communicate with other departments.Fire firearms with test loads to determine proper functioning and correct alignment of barrel.Perform maintenance and cleaning for work area, equipment, and tools.Maintain guns used by Marketing department.Clean and inspect firearms before and after use in shows and events.Process orders in JDE to include, picking and packing of product.Disassemble, clean and reassemble different models of firearms to include troubleshooting and repair of common problems if necessary.Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned by management.Research inventory in JDE; verifying location/status and correcting if necessary.Assist with Marketing, Warehouse and Repair department projects as availability permits.Performance Measurements:Any incoming substandard product is discovered prior to being accepted into warehouse inventory.Conversions are done promptly and correctly with proper recordkeeping.Product shipped for use in shows and other events is in excellent condition and functions properly.Supervisory Responsibilities:N/AWho you are:You always strive to do a good job, and you show pride in our brand and your role in the organization.
