Senior Full-Stack Engineer (React & Node.js) | Europe #3109The Mission Help build an inclusive, human-centered platform designed to elevate the human experience of sexuality and relationships. You will join Feeld’s engineering team to own the systems that connect people, bringing clarity, reliability, and scale to high-traffic discovery feeds.The Role Embedded within the Discover squad—a cross-functional group of 6–8 owning profile feeds, recommendations, and matchmaking systems—you will lead complex investigations, resolve system bottlenecks, and incrementally modernize our backend infrastructure.System Architecture & Scaling (40%): Build and deploy resilient, high-throughput backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, NoSQL, and event-driven architectures across AWS.Investigation & Optimization (30%): Triage, investigate, and resolve intricate bugs and performance issues within an evolving codebase, turning technical debt into reliable system patterns.Product & Data Collaboration (20%): Work directly with Product, Data, and QA teams to refine features, align on data consistency, and deliver impactful recommendation updates.Testing & Observability (10%): Maintain rigorous unit and integration testing standards while enhancing production observability and handling incident responses.The Must-HavesExperience: 5+ years of backend engineering experience using Node.js and TypeScript, ideally supporting high-traffic B2C products.Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience building feeds, recommendation engines, or data-intensive systems with complex logic.Architecture & Storage: Strong grasp of GraphQL or REST APIs, event-driven systems, NoSQL databases, and relational storage (PostgreSQL).AWS Ecosystem: Direct experience with cloud-first infrastructure including AWS ECS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and EventBridge.Reliability & Pragmatism: Proven track record handling production incidents, navigating existing codebases with technical debt, and making incremental improvements.Quality Standards: Meticulous approach to writing unit/integration tests and maintaining high system availability and data consistency.Communication & Location: Full proficiency in English with time-zone alignment across EuropeThe Bonus SkillsMobile Awareness: Familiarity with React Native and native mobile build workflows in Xcode and Android Studio.Extended Stack: Experience with Apollo, NestJS, Terraform, Sentry, Snowflake, Amplitude, Stream Chat, Cloudinary, or Firebase Auth.Forward-Looking Tech: Curiosity about distributed systems scalability and the application of ML/AI models in recommendation systems.Personal TraitsStrong Ownership: You don't just fix bugs; you take full accountability for system stability, from initial triage to production telemetry.Collaborative Mindset: You thrive in diverse, remote-first environments and partner seamlessly with product managers and data specialists.Pragmatic Refactorer: You understand that technical debt is a reality and take pride in improving systems step-by-step without requiring total rewrites.
