Material Handler | 3rd Shift!
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Material Handler to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the facility. This role requires proficiency in operating heavy equipment, such as forklifts and cranes, and familiarity with warehouse management systems. The Material Handler plays a vital role in ensuring smooth shipping, receiving, and order picking operations to support overall warehouse productivity and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
Load and unload materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment
Operate RF scanners for accurate order picking and inventory management
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment following warehouse procedures
Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments against documentation
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA standards
Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as cranes and mechanical tools to ensure proper functioning
Support warehouse distribution activities by efficiently managing materials flow throughout the facility
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and workflow efficiency
Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety guidelines for manual handling
Experience
Prior warehouse experience is highly preferred, including familiarity with order picker operations and warehouse management systems
Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks is essential
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation is required
Mechanical knowledge or construction background is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
Previous experience in shipping & receiving or materials handling roles is advantageous
Experience with RF scanners and order picking processes enhances efficiency in this role
Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership skills are beneficial for potential advancement opportunities
