Materials Testing Supervisor - Construction

Under the direction of the AASHTO Laboratory Area Manager (ALAM) the Materials Testing Supervisor is responsible for monitoring daily processes and managing a team of laboratory technicians. Success is defined as the timely delivery of requested tests, efficient use of equipment, proper training and development of personnel, fostering a team environment, ability to adapt quickly to change, minimization of risk and compliance with specifications, organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards.Perform testing as needed to meet customer requirements.Train all lab personnel in their assigned tasks and ensure they maintain required certifications.Preferred Skills:* 1 + years' experience in inspection and testing of road and paving materials and construction; satisfactorily directed testing or inspection services, or both, of road and paving materials is acceptable.* Holds or is qualified for a current WisDOT HMA-TPC (WI), IDOT - HMA II (IL), or MDOT (MI) certification.Requirements:* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.* Demonstrates problem solving skills.* Proven ability to effectively train, evaluate and communicate with others.* Proven ability to oversee multiple and/or complex projects simultaneously.* Must be proficient with computers, the Microsoft suite of programs, and an understanding of current technology trends.* Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.* Able to lift 50 - 75 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.The Benefits: Competitive compensation aligned with industry standards Employer Paid Medical Plan with HRA contribution (eligibility requirements) J-18808-Ljbffr
