ASL Assessment Writer for High School Courses

We are searching for an American Sign Langugae Subject Matter Expert with recent ASL teaching experience for a contract position writing ASL assessments for digital curriculum that will be used in high school classrooms. This contract position begins this summer.The ideal candidate teaches ASL in high school, or at a college or community college, and can write to provide high school students with a solid foundation in the language. The candidate should have a vision of how students can learn and be assessed in the language through courseware. Courseware is a textbook replacement and supports what the student learns from an ASL teacher. Qualifications and Skills:Strong skills in teaching and assessing receptive and expressive ASL, with an understanding of Deaf cultureFluent in ASL and proficient in written EnglishAbility to disseminate language knowledge in writingAbility to create video scripts for sign language videosCan teach and assess state curriculum and ACTFL standards effectivelyExpertise to develop activities and role-plays Post-secondary ASL degreeDeadline-drivenReceptive to feedback Can work remotely as part of a larger teamOpen to using various tech applications - MS Word, Dropbox, Smartsheet, SlackFor the chosen candidate, this freelance role could consume more than 5 hours/week over the next 2 years and will be completed in 2028.
