SharePoint Developer / Modernization EngineerLocation: Fort Gregg-Adams, VA (100% On-Site)Organization: Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) – Public Affairs & MarketingJob OverviewThe Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) is seeking a Senior SharePoint Developer to modernize and optimize our digital communication environments. In this role, you will design, migrate, and maintain SharePoint Online and on-premise solutions to support DeCA’s global strategic communications, ensuring seamless internal and external audience engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironment Modernization: Design, develop, and update SharePoint Online and on-premise environments to improve usability, scalability, and 508-compliant mobile responsiveness. Migration & Integration: Migrate legacy systems, databases, and workflows into modern M365/SharePoint solutions; integrate SharePoint with external enterprise platforms and CMS technologies. Custom Development: Build custom web parts, workflows, forms, and tools using modern frameworks like SPFx, Power Platform (Power Apps), and .NET. System Maintenance: Monitor system health, troubleshoot bottlenecks, patch vulnerabilities, and resolve helpdesk tickets to ensure uninterrupted site operations. Governance & Training: Deliver technical documentation, maintain data-driven site performance metrics, and provide training to government stakeholders. Requirements & QualificationsCertifications & Clearance:DoD 8570 Baseline: Must hold an active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CND, CCNA-Security, CySA+, SSCP, GICSP, or GSEC) prior to start. Clearance: Secret clearance required Experience & SkillsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). SharePoint Expertise: 5+ years of dedicated SharePoint development experience, with deep knowledge of SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2016/2019, and migration strategies. Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SPFx, and Power Apps. Preferred: Familiarity with Drupal or alternative open-source Content Management Systems (CMS).
