Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible and provide support for the specification, design, implementation, installation, commissioning, startup, and close-out of small-to-large scale capital expenditure projects independently or in conjunction with Central Engineering resources. This position will also provide engineering expertise to assist plant-level Maintenance, Production/Operations, EH&S, and Management personnel in identifying and solving technical process issues. Technical assistance will require understanding of plant power distribution systems and process and machinery control systems. A practical level of understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles are to be applied to assigned project work.Duties and Responsibilities:Capital and major maintenance project management that includes scope development, funding requests, budget tracking, schedule tracking and project execution.Coordinate day-to-day activities of contractors and plant maintenance personnel during project execution.Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing process equipment and control systems.Provide training and technical assistance to plant-level Maintenance, Production/Operations, EH&S, and management personnel to ensure all project goals are successfully attained.Design using the latest hardware and software components, design machine control systems to maximize equipment productivity and assure all code requirements and safety standards are strictly met.Maintains and continuously improves plant process control systems, plant production network, and data collection.Accomplishes annual plant major maintenance and capital projectsMonitors and maintains plant powerPrepares for the annual major maintenance and capital projects for the followingSupports the SAP maintenance work order system - using the data base to help evaluate equipment break downs and root cause analysis.60% office - project development and tasks, reports, projects updates, team meetings/calls40% production floor - project support, equipment installation, commissioning, startups, troubleshooting, programming/testing (PPE applies)Education and ExperienceDegree preferred in Electrical Engineering or closely related disciplineMinimum of five years of experience in a controls or electrical engineering capacityExperience with Allen Bradley, PLC, and programming#LI-LT1
