Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Controls Designer / Engineer in the Buford GA AreaThis is a full time direct hire positionSalary range 80k to 120k depending on experienceOverview:The Controls designer/ engineer leads the design and build of UL508A industrial control panels and wiring diagrams, and supports field installations and troubleshooting.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign AC/DC control systems including PLCs, HMIs, networking, panel-mount devices, and relay logicProduce and maintain wiring schematics; manage BOM generation, component selection, and procurement coordinationWrite and enforce panel-building procedures for in-house UL508A shopManage project timelines, track tasks, and communicate progress to Engineering and Project ManagementCollaborate with vendors to specify components and replace obsolete parts, verifying lead times align with project schedulesSupport field teams remotely and assist with troubleshooting and job executionDrive continuous improvement of electrical design processes, standards, and best practicesRequired SkillsEPLAN for wiring schematics and P&IDs is preferredExperience with VFDs and Soft StartersAllen Bradley, Siemens, and Automation Direct platformsPDF markup tools (Bluebeam or Adobe)Familiarity with Procore, Fieldwire, Dropbox, or similar PM/file-sharing toolsStrong communication, documentation, and multitasking abilities Education & Experience5+ years field experience; 3+ years EPLAN Pro Panel design preferredPLC programming experience a plusUL508A panel shop or UL MTR experience a plus If interested email resumes to ryanb@apollotechnical.com or apply online
