Position Summary Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright's responsibilities are as follows: Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Installs, inspects, and maintains rotating equipment within the facility. Inspects, troubleshoots and performs maintenance on rotating equipment (PD Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, Compressors, Agitators, Gear Boxes, Blowers, Fin Fans, etc.) per API/ASME/ANSI standards and OEM specifications. Adjusts and aligns machinery and equipment. Uses hand and power tools to complete assigned work tasks. Reads and interprets schematics and drawings. Is able to setup, prepare, and inspect the work site. Demonstrates knowledge of basic physical and mechanical principles and craft math. Understands bearing, seals, compressors, pumps and cylinders, value and pipe configurations, shaft packing, and drive systems. Understands characteristics of metals and is knowledgeable about the various types and applications of lubricants. Follows guidelines and procedures to ensure that rotating equipment is working in a safe and reliable manner. Complete multicraft work which could include fixed equipment installation, support of PM technicians and other discipline craft. Communicate and work with Maintenance/Reliability Engineer to process pump data to help improve Reliability of our rotating equipment. Assist Maintenance Team to create Job Procedures for all our rotating equipment. Must be able to provide basic millwright hand tools. Exhibits and practices the Third Coast fundamental behaviors. Knowledge and Skills: High School Graduate or GED required. Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, agitators, gearboxes). Minimum of 5 years of experience with precision alignment and mechanical troubleshooting. Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and process safety requirements. Three (3) years of maintenance experience in the petrochemical field preferred. Previous experience with machine shop equipment such as column drills, lathes, milling machines and associated tooling preferred. Skills and Competencies: Must be able to read, understand, and execute safety rules and procedures. Knowledge of our quality policy and objectives Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in pump, and mixer The experience to know how to fix things Demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication. The ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals. Computer Skills such as Microsoft Word. (Microsoft Excel is preferred, but not required) Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200500 pounds.
