Staff Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to support core accounting activities for our client in Solano County, California. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing inventory-related accounting, and helping deliver timely reporting for business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, experience in a production-based environment, and confidence working in NetSuite and Excel.Responsibilities:• Record and review journal entries to keep the general ledger complete, accurate, and aligned with accounting standards.• Contribute to the monthly close process by preparing reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.• Manage accounting related to raw materials, work in process, and finished goods inventory within a manufacturing setting.• Analyze inventory differences, assist with cycle counts, and provide support during physical inventory verification activities.• Evaluate production costs, track cost of goods sold trends, and help explain manufacturing variance results to leadership.• Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and ad hoc analyses to assist management with operational and financial decisions.• Partner with teams across purchasing, warehouse, operations, and production to improve data accuracy and strengthen financial controls.• Use NetSuite to process transactions, generate reporting, and support ongoing improvements to accounting procedures and workflows.• Assist with indirect tax filings, audit preparation, and year-end review activities with external auditors.• Provide backup support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, and forecasting activities as business needs require.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.• At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or another product-based environment.• Practical experience using NetSuite for accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.• Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and GAAP-based financial practices.• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing cost analysis.• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with pivot tables and complex formulas.• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, solve problems independently, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate successfully with both finance and operational teams.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
