Agentic Engineer (Atlanta)

This is a 6-12 month contract opportunity. Candidates MUST be local to the Atlanta, GA area, as the role is onsite 2-3 days a week. No C2C, OPT, or Visa consideration. No vendor support of any kind allowed.We're looking for an experienced AI Platform Engineer (Agentic Engineer) to help design, build, and scale production-grade AI agent systems and developer tooling in a modern enterprise environment. This role is heavily focused on AI-assisted engineering workflows, deterministic system design, backend architecture, and operational discipline around shipping reliable AI-enabled applications.This is not a ticket-queue development role. You'll be trusted to own outcomes, improve engineering workflows, and help shape how AI-enabled systems are built, governed, tested, and deployed at scale.What You'll Work OnBuild and enhance AI-driven applications and agent workflows using deterministic orchestration patternsDesign backend APIs and services using Python and FastAPIImprove AI-assisted engineering workflows using tools like Cursor and Claude CodeDevelop and maintain structured prompt libraries, audit workflows, and engineering guardrailsCreate deterministic workflows that keep LLMs out of transactional or business-critical execution pathsBuild telemetry dashboards, reporting, and observability tooling for AI systemsExtend CI/CD validation, testing automation, and quality gates for AI-enabled applicationsCollaborate closely with engineering leadership on architecture, prompt engineering strategy, and operational standardsDocument architecture decisions, workflows, and technical standards for long-term maintainabilityRequired ExperienceStrong hands-on Python development experience (Python 3.11+, async/await, APIs, structured data)Experience building APIs with FastAPI or similar Python frameworksStrong SQL skills with experience writing secure, parameterized queriesExperience working with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar platformsUnderstanding of prompt engineering, context management, and structured-output AI workflowsExperience building production-ready systems with strong testing and deployment disciplineAbility to design scalable, maintainable architectures with a focus on reliability and governanceStrong documentation habits and ability to create clear technical handoff materialsPreferred ExperienceExperience with Anthropic Claude APIs or other LLM platformsFamiliarity with Salesforce REST integrations and enterprise APIsExperience with Docker, Azure App Services, and cloud-hosted container environmentsExposure to local-first AI tooling (Ollama, llama.cpp, etc.)Experience with React/TypeScript-based frontend applicationsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and automated testing frameworksExperience with Playwright or browser-based integration testingBackground in machine learning or lightweight classification models (scikit-learn, TF-IDF, etc.)What We're Looking ForEngineers who use AI as a productivity multiplier — not as a replacement for critical thinkingStrong architectural mindset with attention to governance, testing, and operational qualityComfortable working in highly iterative, fast-moving engineering environmentsAbility to identify system risks, enforce standards, and maintain high engineering disciplineStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skillsCollaborative mindset with strong communication and documentation habits
