Locum Tenens Opportunity for Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Near Sedona, AZ We are seeking a Physician Assistant specialized in Cardiothoracic Surgery for a locum tenens role near Sedona, AZ. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting with a structured schedule and no overnight call requirements. Position Details: Specialty: Surgery Cardiothoracic Location: Near Sedona, AZ Schedule: ASAP - Ongoing Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Coverage: Scheduled coverage plus on-call duties Job Overview: Patient Volume: Manage 10-15 CVICU/step-down patients per day, and handle 1-2 surgeries daily. Patient Population: Primarily adult and geriatric patients. Department: Cardiothoracic Surgery Hospital Bed Size: 199 beds EMR System: Cerner Special Procedures: Experience in temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement is essential. Skills Required: Recent experience in cardiothoracic surgery with proficiency in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH). Requirements: Board Certification: Required Licensure: Must hold or be eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in Arizona. DEA: Required Minimum Experience: 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with expertise in EVH. Educational Requirements: Graduation from a university program approved by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or a Master???s Degree in Nursing. Certification or eligibility for certification by the NCCPA. For Nurse Practitioners: Completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program, RN/NP First Assistant Program, and current unrestricted Arizona APRN license.
