You'll shape how we design, repair, and extend the life of power and distribution transformers while working alongside field, operations, and supply chain teams who count on you to deliver.If you're energized by solving complex problems in the shop and in the field — and you want your work to directly impact customers and operations — this is your seat at the table.What You'll DoEngineer & Design•     Develop and optimize transformer designs that meet IEEE/IEC standards and exceed customer expectations•     Review technical specifications, drawings, and customer data for feasibility, compliance, and continuous improvement•     Lead and support repair, reconditioning, upgrade, and retrofit projects from concept through completionSupport the Field•     Be the go-to technical resource for field service teams during installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance•     Drive root cause analyses and own corrective action recommendations — not just identifying problems, but solving them•     Conduct site visits across JCL locations and customer sites to assess equipment condition and keep projects movingOwn Lifecycle & Reliability•     Develop and execute lifecycle strategies that extend asset life, improve reliability, and reduce risk•     Provide data-driven insights on equipment condition, remaining useful life, and maintenance prioritiesDrive Operational Excellence•     Partner with operations and supply chain to ensure designs are both technically sound and cost-effective to manufacture•     Support ERP product structures (BOMs, configurations) in collaboration with operations teams•     Identify and lead process improvements that enhance cost accuracy, efficiency, and qualityCollaborate Across the Business•     Partner with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and service teams to align engineering with business goals•     Contribute to vendor evaluations, sourcing strategies, and product standardization effortsWhat You BringRequired•     Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field•     5–10+ years of experience in transformer design, service engineering, or a closely related field•     Deep knowledge of transformer construction, materials, and industry standards (IEEE/IEC)•     Experience working across both shop and field environments•     Ability to read and develop technical drawings and documentation•     Strong problem-solving instincts with clear, confident communication skills•     A track record of managing multiple priorities without losing attention to detailPreferred•     Hands-on experience with transformer repair, refurbishment, or failure diagnostics•     Background in reliability engineering or asset management•     Familiarity with manufacturing processes and testing protocols•     ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Infor, or similar)Work Location & Travel•     Regular travel to JCL facilities in PA, TX, and SC, as well as customer sites across the U.S.•     Occasional international travel for OEM training or technical supportOur Values — What We Expect of Every Team MemberAt JCL Energy, we don't just post values on the wall — we hire for them, develop for them, and hold each other to them:•     Journey Driven – You're committed to continuous improvement and never stop growing.•     Customer Obsessed – You deliver quality work and exceptional service, every time.•     Leadership at All Levels – You take ownership, stay accountable, and bring initiative to every challenge.•     We Bring Energy – You contribute positively to your team and to the culture we're building together.•     Safety First, Always – You prioritize safety in every task, every decision, every day — no exceptions.What We Offer•     A rare opportunity to work across design, field service, and lifecycle management in a single role•     High visibility and direct impact — your work shapes real outcomes for customers and operations•     Access to strong leadership and a culture that values your expertise and initiative•     Competitive compensation, benefits, and a team that brings energy every dayJCL Energy is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
