DSP (Direct Support Professional) House Manager
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional Manager to provide high-quality support and care to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and individuals with dementia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and promoting independence and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed
- Assist with daily living activities, such as eating, walking, and using the bathroom
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
- Provide medication management and administration, as prescribed
- Assist with household chores, including laundry and meal preparation
- Engage in social activities, such as playing games, watching movies, or going for walks
- Support individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's disease, using person-centered care principles
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment, adhering to safety protocols
- Provide emotional support and companionship, promoting a sense of well-being and connection
- Assist with mobility and transportation, as needed
- Participate in group home activities, such as arts and crafts, or sports and games
- Work closely with healthcare professionals and social workers to ensure the best possible care for each individual
- Document daily activities and progress, as required
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, seniors, or those with dementia
- Knowledge of hospice care, long-term care, and home care
- Ability to assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Understanding of the importance of social work and its role in enhancing quality of life
- Familiarity with vital signs and the ability to record them accurately
- Experience in a group home setting, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- A strong commitment to providing senior care and support
- The ability to work with individuals who have varying levels of cognitive impairment
- Compassion and empathy for individuals with disabilities and their families
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
- A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle, if required by the position
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in social work or a related field preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
