CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled with bi-weekly reviewsPOSITION: CookSALARY: $20.34 - $22.29, per hour DOEREPORTS TO: Food Services ManagerLOCATION: Convalescent Center; Nespelem, WashingtonBasic Functions: Perform the day-to-day activities of the Dietary Department as assisting the Cook with the preparation and serving of all meals, washing dishes, pots and pans, as well as the trays and setting up the drinks for the following meal. This position Is required to keep the Dietary areas clean and sanitary in accordance with current federal, state, local standards, guideline, and regulations governing the facility.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Training:High school diploma or GED requiredAbility to organize work duties in order to complete all tasks as assigned within the shift.Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 2 feet and be able to push, pull,Move; and/or carry said weight a minimum of 15 feet.Must be able to work independently.Must be able to successfully clear a Criminal History Background Inquiry that indicates no felony or conviction/s on the DSHS Secretary's List.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Maintains work and cleaning schedules.Maintains a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive atmosphere in the Dietary Department.Wash and put away dishes, silverware, glassware and trays after each meal.Set up trays with silverware, napkins, beverages, condiments before each meal, and load trays into carts for deliveryAssist Cook with the service of all meals.Prepare cold and/or hot beverage according to the Resident dietary card and menu spreadsheets.Completes the scheduled cleaning duties including the cleaning of the dining room refrigerator.Carry out garbage and trash and keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment and or supplies.Assist the Cook in preparing meals, distribute and collect menus as necessary, and obtain food supplies for the next meal.Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas and dining rooms.Report all accidents and/or incidents to your supervisor, immediately.Knowledge of long-term care setting.Knowledge of Dietary requirements in a Long-Term Care setting preferred.Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
