This individual will play a critical role in guiding leadership through complex workforce matters while balancing legal risk with business objectives. The position offers high visibility and direct interaction with executive leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary legal advisor on employment-related matters, including employee relations, terminations, workplace investigations, and policy developmentPartner closely with HR and executive leadership to proactively manage risk and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsLead and oversee internal investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other workplace concernsProvide counsel on wage and hour compliance, classification issues, and multi-state employment mattersDraft, review, and update employment agreements, policies, handbooks, and separation agreementsManage outside counsel on employment litigation and administrative claims, including strategy, budgeting, and resolutionAdvise on organizational changes such as restructurings, reductions in force, and integration effortsSupport training initiatives for managers and employees on employment law best practices and risk mitigationStay ahead of evolving employment laws and provide actionable guidance to business leadersQualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing6+ years of experience in employment law (law firm or in-house)Strong experience handling complex employee relations issues and conducting workplace investigationsDemonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal adviceExperience supporting multi-state or national organizations preferredExcellent judgment, communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders at all levelsWhat Sets This Role ApartDirect exposure to executive decision-making and business strategyOpportunity to build and refine employment practices within a growing organizationCollaborative environment with cross-functional partnership across HR, Finance, and OperationsHigh-impact role with the ability to shape policy, culture, and risk strategyCompensationCompetitive base salary with bonus and benefits, commensurate with experience.
