A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:Building relationships and growing business in the transportation sectorDevelop business by a marketing company to existing clients and as well identifying and marketing to new clientsMeeting with DOTs, cities, counties and local agencies for business development purposesResponsible for project delivery aspects such as design calculations, plan preparation, and direction of traffic designs for TDOT and local government projectsManage and maintain project schedules and financial requirementsUses advanced techniques, theory, precepts and practices in a specialized engineering field and related sciences and disciplinesInteract with Client and other consultants and must have good communication skillsExercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is requiredLicensed as a Professional Engineer in Tennessee with ability to be licensed in other statesPTOE Certification (preferred) REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:20+ years of experience with Microstation, (or Open Roads) and TDOT procedures a mustExperience with signal design, timing, intersection improvements, signing/striping, work zones, technology/ITS, traffic simulation/modeling, traffic studies, and roadway safetyExperience with various traffic software packagesMust be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basisProven experience in handling project management responsibilities including multiple deadlinesStrong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employeesAbility to build strong relationships LEVEL UP WITH LJA At LJA, we're 100% employee-owned.
