Financial Accountant New Cambridge, UK
Position Summary
This full-time position is within the Finance team working in our Cambridge office on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days in the office). The Financial Accountant will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver high‑quality internal and external reporting and provide expert accounting advice on major transactions. You’ll also support tax and compliance matters and prepare for annual statutory reporting.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation and delivery of the Group’s annual and interim statutory reporting.
Lead and contribute to technical accounting projects, including the implementation of new IFRS and US GAAP standards.
Support year‑end audits, liaising closely with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely completion.
Act as a key point of contact with auditors, bankers, and insurers, supporting the Group’s insurance processes.
Prepare technical accounting papers and assessments, partnering with internal stakeholders to support development and investment projects.
Work closely with the Group Financial Accounting Manager to ensure that all corporate tax matters are managed and met.
Provide assistance to the Group Financial Accounting Manager on matters relating to the organisational structure of the business and its US subsidiaries.
Qualifications
A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA), ideally with a Big 4 experience.
Strong technical knowledge in IFRS; US GAAP knowledge is an advantage.
Detail‑driven and confident in providing technical insight.
Strong communicator able to influence, present, and build trusted relationships.
Resilient under pressure, delivering accurate results to tight deadlines.
Hands‑on, discreet, and professional, with the judgement to handle sensitive data.
