Senior Accountant

Job DescriptionThe Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the General Ledger team of William Hill Nevada in preparing accounting records and administering financial processes. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:Working on a hybrid-remote schedule.Gaining knowledge of sports betting systems and underlying calculations.Creating and reviewing detailed, complex spreadsheets.Adhering to GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controls.Preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries.Training and coaching staff accountants.Aiding staff accountants with problem solving and researching discrepancies.Assisting Accounting Managers with Lease and Contract Accounting.Preparing monthly, quarterly and bi-annual/annual revenue and profit shares.Overseeing partner billing submissions and partner receivables.Preparing quarterly, bi-annual and annual business licenses.Communicating monthly results and maintaining relationships with sportsbook partners.Assisting with internal and external audit requests as required.Supporting Accounting Managers and upper-management with ad hoc requests as required.Prepared to assist and support their team members when required and work as a cohesive unit.Upholding departmental policies, procedures and quality standards.Minimum Position Requirements2 – 4 years of accounting experienceDegree in Accounting or related fieldAble to obtain a gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Control BoardAble to work a flexible schedule: evenings and weekends when neededKnowledge of GAAP principles, SOX compliance and internal controlsProven ability to lead and assist staff accountantsWorking knowledge of preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entriesDiligent to detail and accuracySTRONG Excel skills, macro knowledge a plusWorking knowledge of Oracle accounting software a plusAble to adapt to changesAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyAbility to demonstrate initiative with excellent communication skillsCapable of meeting deadlines under pressure and time constraints
