About the Role
You will develop and sustain distributed big data infrastructure and applications built on Hadoop-ecosystem technologies. This role spans both active development of data processing pipelines and hands-on operational troubleshooting of cluster components. Work includes writing backend Java applications that interact with large-scale distributed storage and compute systems.
Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Hadoop, MapReduce, Accumulo, and Zookeeper clusters including node-level remediation
Develop MapReduce applications for large-scale distributed data processing
Write and maintain Accumulo iterators, scanners, and ingest pipelines supporting both streaming and bulk import workflows
Author and execute Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation and configuration management
Support Kubernetes-based deployments and troubleshoot containerized workloads
Sustain and improve data warehouse processing pipelines
Diagnose and resolve cluster-level failures including HDFS node issues and Accumulo tablet server faults
Required Qualifications
Java development
Hadoop and MapReduce (deployment, development, and troubleshooting)
Apache Accumulo (iterators, scanners, bulk and streaming ingest)
Apache Zookeeper administration
HDFS operations and node-level troubleshooting
Ansible playbook development and execution
Kubernetes deployment and troubleshooting
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with data warehouse architectures and processing pipelines
Experience sustaining production big data clusters in an operational environment
