Senior Underwriter

Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Senior Underwriter to join our team in Baltimore This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence at least three days a week, with the flexibility of remote work from a home computer or laptop. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor the loan pipeline to identify stalled, at-risk, or complex loans and take targeted actions to unblock progress.Resolve loan and service exceptions end-to-end, coordinating across Mortgage Specialists and internal partner teams.Ensure consistent progress through Initial Disclosures, Loan Processing, Closing, and Funding.Provide coverage during staffing gaps or volume spikes to maintain workflow continuity.Investigate recurring issues, identify root causes, and recommend workflow or process improvements.Support quality and compliance through Initial Disclosure and Loan Processing scrubs.Generate and analyze operational reporting related to pipeline health, aging, trends, and funding performance.Additional DetailsEnjoy a competitive pay range of $29-30 per hour with a hybrid schedule. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the potential for long-term growth and stability within the company.Required QualificationsMinimum 5 years of loan processing experience, preferably in mortgage loans.Strong understanding of mortgage operations and the loan origination lifecycle.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive solutions.Strong communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting or partnering with Initial Disclosures, Loan Processing, Closing, Underwriting, and/or Funding teams.Experience with non-conforming/complex loan transactions preferred.Prior exposure to quality assurance, compliance reviews, or regulatory-driven processes.Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.If you are a self-starter with a passion for excellence in mortgage operations, we want to hear from you!
