Inspector
Job Summary:
Urban is actively seeking a CDS Operator to join our Construction Inspection (CI) Team on the PA Turnpike’s New Cumberland Maintenance Facility Project located at mile post 243.80 eastbound. This is a three-year construction project with most work being performed during day shift. The candidate will provide CDS documentation control for the PA Turnpike and assist the Resident Engineer with the Kahua construction management platform.
Job Responsibilities
Manage CDS documentation in compliance with PA Turnpike standards
Review Inspectors Daily Reports (IDRs), SOS, Material Certifications, etc.
Review and generate monthly estimates, DBE reports, and meeting reports
Assist and generate change authorizations and change orders
Verify field inspection calculations for accuracy and correctness
Independently perform daily tasks with efficiency and organization
Coordinate with inspection staff to promote accurate project documentation
Understands the Construction Operations Manual (COM)
Proficient with all aspects of project closeout
Engage professionally with owners, contractors, clients, auditors, and consultants
Assist Resident Engineer with project documentation using Kahua, i.e. project submissions, submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, etc.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma
5 years of CDS and Kahua experience working on PA Turnpike projects
Ability to work with individuals representing multiple consulting firms
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent oral, written, communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
