Mechanic

OVERVIEWConrad Fire Equipment is a service provider for fire departments located within its dealer territory. CFE is currently looking for a great mechanic to keep up our level of commitment to safety and customer service. In this role, the successful candidate will perform fire apparatus repair and maintenance work and will work closely with other team members to meet company goals. (The ESOP is an additional benefit separate from CFE's standard 401k plan.)RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIESPerform minor and major repairs on fire apparatusCollaborate with the service team to diagnose problems with emergency apparatus and plan repairsWork with chassis, electrical, multiplex, hydraulic, water pumps, foam, and aerial systemsPerform repairs at shop and customer locations (via Conrad mobile service vehicle)Maintain cleanliness in the shop and mobile vehiclesPerform minor diesel engine repairsMaintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehiclesResponsible for any and all duties assigned by Fleet ManagerResponsible for tracking inventory used for repairsRegular full-time working hours 7am - 4pmQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSMust have their own toolsAble to trouble shoot mechanical, electrical and structural issues as well as repair identified issues in a timely and cost-effective mannerBasic computer skillsCDL a plusASE Qualification a plusEVT Qualification a plusAir Brake certification a plusMust be able to accurately record work done on apparatus per set requirements and communicate with Fleet Manger regularly on repair statusAbility to lift 50 lbs. or more based on work environmentAbility to pass a drug testJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayLicense/Certification:Driver's License (Required)Work Location: In person
