Salary: $42,974.00 - $66,042.00 Annually Location : Wilson, NC Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2025-41 Division: Faculty - Applied Technologies Opening Date: 12/12/2025Job SummaryThe Electrical Systems Technology Program Coordinator provides curricular oversight and supervision to adjunct faculty within the Electrical Systems Technology program. The position requires a teaching workload as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms all duties listed on the instructor job description. Provides instruction across all modalities-face-to-face, online, blended, hybrid, hyflex-to ensure the delivery of high-quality, hands-on learning experiences as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. Fosters direct engagement with students and supports effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders. Develops course syllabi, outlines, and classroom activities for assigned courses. Reviews and selects appropriate instructional materials for assigned courses. Administers tests or other evaluation methods to students; grades and gives feedback on exercises, homework assignments, and tests. Monitors, records, and submits student attendance, progress, and grades for assigned courses. Order supplies and equipment for assigned courses. Provide external support for students through office hours and on-site availability. Utilizes the Student Success and Engagement software Serves as an academic advisor for assigned students. Monitors and ensures that students take appropriate courses in the appropriate sequence. Assists with registration processes. Contributes to curriculum development by developing and evaluating course content and student learning outcomes. Maintains contacts with business, industry, and professional organizations to keep instructional programs current with occupational or academic field. Participates in program reviews. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and professional development training. Develops, implements, evaluates, and reports annual program goals/outcomes (PLOs). Performs other duties as assigned. Education and ExperienceRequired Associate's degree in applied engineering, Electrical Systems, Electronics, Industrial Systems or related field from a regionally accredited institution. Current licensures/Certificates specific to the discipline or Three years of relevant industry experience Preferred Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related field from a regionally accredited institution Teaching experience Supplemental Information$8,000 Sign On Bonus50% to be paid out at hire, and 50% to be paid out after a successful probationary period. LONGEVITYLongevity is a yearly lump-sum payment you receive after working 10 years: Years of Service Longevity Rate Less than 10 0% of Salary 10 but less than 15 1.5% of Salary 15 but less than 20 2.5% of Salary 20 but less than 25 3.25% of Salary 25 or More 4.5% of Salary FACULTY LEAVEFaculty members do not earn annual leave. Faculty are required to be on campus 30 hours per week which includes teaching, holding office hours, advising, committee work and other events (i.e. registration, professional development and graduation). PERSONAL LEAVEFaculty members earn three (3) personal leave days per fiscal year (7/1-6/30). Personal leave days are not transferable to any other form of leave and are not cumulative. SICK LEAVEYou earn 12 days per year (8 hours per month). This leave can accumulate indefinitely. When you retire, available sick hours will convert to creditable service with the Retirement System. King, Jr. Day Good Friday Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Veteran's Day (may be taken at Winter Break) Thanksgiving (2 days) Winter Break The sum of all paid holidays will not exceed 12 days. Employees may be required to take paid leave or leave without pay for days other than the 12 specified holidays. HEALTH INSURANCEYou may join the State Health Plan. There is an employee contribution to the State Health Plan; however, the State pays a portion of the monthly premium as well. Dependents may also be covered. You may elect 70/30 coverage or 80/20 coverage. Upon retirement, coverage may continue; however, it depends on the conditions under which you retire. It should be noted that insurance premiums are expensive, and rates/coverage may change annually. Open enrollment allows for changes to be made to your health coverage, and it is usually conducted in October each year. RETIREMENTTeachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS) Six percent of your gross salary as pre-taxed dollars goes into your retirement account monthly. A death benefit of one time's your annual salary (minimum $25,000 and maximum $50,000) is provided to you once you have been in the system for one year. Once you have completed five years in the system, you are considered to be vested. Unreduced Retirement Benefits are available as follow:Age 65 with 5 years of serviceAge 60 with 25 years of serviceAny age with 30 years of service Disability Income Plan: Is provided through TSERS. The plan provides short-term benefits after one year in the system. After a sixty-day waiting period, the plan pays 50% of your salary and longevity up to $3,000 per month for one year. It also provides long-term benefits after you are vested (5 years in the system). The plans pays 65% of your salary and longevity, up to $3900 per month until the disability ends. Long-term benefits include health coverage and the death benefit. Payments will be reduced if you are receiving social security disability benefits or workers compensation benefits. WORKERS COMPENSATIONUpon an accidental injury on the job, you will be covered by Workers Compensation. You should notify your supervisor and Human Resources immediately when an accident or injury on the job occurs.
