Security Officer

Arms Acres in Carmel, NY Inpatient is seeking individuals for their Security Department in Admissions. The Security Officers are responsible for providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for Arms Acres patients, employees and visitors according to facility policies and licensing guidelines. Investigates and provides written reports on action taken on complaints and disturbances. Security Officer secures the buildings and equipment from loss or abuse.Shifts available: S, Mon, Tues and alt Wed 9:30a-10:00pm (Sundays from 8am-8:30pm)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :Examining and observing all doors and windows that should be locked; doors to stairwells to ascertain they are free from blockage; and that all exits are free from obstructionsLock and unlock all doors in accordance with established time scheduleRespond to any alarms of unauthorized doors openingAssist Clinical Department and Nursing Units associates in controlling combative patients in accordance with established policies and guidelinesCall local law enforcement agencies, as required, including, but not limited to, the removal of unruly guestsMaintain a log of all requests and action taken on each request while manning the Security Control Center, as well as any incidents or activities affecting safety or securityMonitor the fire alarms and follow established procedures when events occurProvide a detailed report of all areas checked, calls for service and infraction of safety and security policies at the end of each shift#INDMP RequirementsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentPrior training in security, law enforcementValid Driver's LicenseFluently read and write English with an ability to understand and execute verbal instructionsNew York State Security Guard LicenseAbility to satisfactory pass a background checkKnowledge of basic security and fire inspection proceduresBasic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Word and ExcelAbility to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bilingual English/Spanish preferredBLS or CPR preferredWe offer competitive wages and benefits in a supportive working environment.We are an equal opportunity employer according to all current standards.#INDMPSalary Description
