Lead Data Engineer - Onsite
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Data Engineer is a senior individual contributor and technical leader responsible for the design, evolution, and reliability of data systems and pipelines across the organization. This role provides technical direction for data engineering initiatives, translates business and product needs into scalable data solutions, and leads execution across multiple engineers without formal people management responsibilities.
This position requires working onsite in Springfield, Missouri.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads the technical design and implementation of complex data pipelines, integrations, and platforms.
Translates business and product requirements into scalable data solutions.
Defines and maintains data engineering standards and best practices.
Leads code reviews and mentors engineers.
Drives resolution of complex data issues and production incidents.
Partners with product and analytics teams to improve data usability.
Forecasts platform evolution and scalability needs.
Supports development, maintenance, and operational stability.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
Certificate(s) or License(s): A certificate of training or expert in one of the systems supported is preferred
Experience: 6-8 yrs experience in data engineering with skills in Snowflake, Python, AWS
Must have demonstrated experience designing solutions, working in partnership with data architects
Demonstrated experience leading complex technical initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Strong data engineering expertise
Ability to lead without direct people management
Strong analytical and communication skills

Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
