Downstream Lab Technician

SummaryWe are seeking a Laboratory Technician I – Process Development (Downstream) to support laboratory and process development activities. This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates with a Bachelor's degree and approximately 1 year of laboratory experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic research. The successful candidate will assist with downstream process development, laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and experimental support in a collaborative research environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport downstream process development experiments under the guidance of scientists and engineers.Prepare, clean, sterilize, and organize laboratory glassware using autoclaves and laboratory washers.Set up, operate, and maintain bioreactor systems and other laboratory equipment.Prepare buffers, media, and laboratory solutions following established procedures.Assist with sample collection, labeling, and documentation during laboratory studies.Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure equipment and supplies are readily available.Accurately document experimental activities following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.Follow all laboratory safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process development objectives.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.Approximately 1 year of laboratory experience (industry, internship, co-op, or academic research).Hands-on experience with autoclaves, laboratory glassware, and general laboratory operations.Familiarity with bioreactor systems or bioprocess equipment.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Preferred QualificationsExposure to downstream process development or downstream purification techniques.Experience with chromatography, filtration, centrifugation, or related downstream operations.Knowledge of GMP/GLP laboratory practices.Experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical laboratory is preferred.
