Senior Manager, CybersecurityA10 Networks is seeking a Senior Manager, Production Operations & Data Center Security to lead security strategy and operational execution across production infrastructure, cloud environments, and data center platforms.Reporting to A10's CISO, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving security controls and practices that protect both internal infrastructure and customer-facing services. This leader will lead cross-functional teams operating deeply within production environments, partnering closely with Production Operations, SRE, and Infrastructure Engineering to deliver comprehensive and measurable security outcomes.The ideal candidate brings a strong builder mentality, deep technical background in production security, and a track record of scaling security practices through automation, mentorship, and operational excellence.Core Leadership PhilosophyThis role is expected to:Lead through technical credibility and hands-on engagementOwn security controls as operational systems, not theoretical frameworksBuild and improve - not just manage - security capabilitiesOperate as an incident leader during high-severity production eventsMentor engineers and analysts into stronger production security operatorsKey ResponsibilitiesProduction & Data Center Security OwnershipOversee a mature customer-facing SOC team to ensure continuity of great customer serviceOwn security posture across production data centers, cloud platforms, and hybrid infrastructurePartner with Infrastructure and SRE teams to embed security controls into platform design and deployment pipelinesEnsure security controls operate reliably under production performance and availability constraintsLead security reviews of production architecture, traffic flows, and service dependenciesDrive hardening standards across compute, network, identity, and application control layers Security Control Engineering & OperationalizationOwn lifecycle of security controls including:Detection controlsPreventative controlsCompensating controlsResponse controlsLead control validation and continuous verification programs.Drive reduction of manual operational overhead through automation.Ensure security telemetry is actionable, high fidelity, and aligned to response automation. Incident Response & Production Event LeadershipServe as senior incident commander for production security incidentsBuild response workflows aligned to production change control and reliability engineering practicesIntegrate security response into production incident management processesLead post-incident analysis focused on control improvement and systemic risk reduction Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure SecurityLead security practices across public cloud and hybrid infrastructure environmentsPartner with platform teams to secure:Identity and access modelsNetwork segmentation and service mesh securityContainer and orchestration environmentsInfrastructure-as-Code security controlsDrive continuous cloud security posture improvement Automation, Scripting & ToolingLead development of automation and orchestration to:Reduce alert triage timeAutomate containment and enrichmentImprove control deployment consistencyContribute directly to scripting and automation initiatives where appropriateChampion infrastructure-as-code and security-as-code practices Mentorship & Technical LeadershipAct as a player-coach across security and production teams.Mentor engineers in secure production design and incident response practices.Build growth paths for security engineers operating in production environments.Foster culture of ownership, operational accountability, and continuous learning. Required Qualifications10+ years in cybersecurity, infrastructure security, or production security engineering.5+ years leading technical teams in production or security operations environments.Strong hands-on experience operating in:Data center infrastructure environmentsCloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)Hybrid infrastructure modelsDemonstrated experience building or operating production security controls.Strong scripting or automation experience (Python, Go, Bash, or similar).Experience leading during high-severity production incidents.Strong understanding of:Network and application-layer securityIdentity and access security modelsDetection and response workflowsProduction reliability and change management principles Preferred QualificationsExperience in networking, application delivery, or infrastructure security product companies.Experience supporting security for customer-facing service platforms.Experience working directly with production operations or SRE organizations.Experience implementing large-scale automation or SOAR-driven response models.CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent certifications.
