Preconstruction Director - Mission Critical

Big-D Mission Critical is looking for a Preconstruction Director to join the team located in Salt Lake City, UT.
Experience/Training:
Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or related
10+ plus years working in the preconstruction process as a Sr. Estimator, Chief Estimator or Manager
Preconstruction experience on data centers is preferred
Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations: (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs)
Create new relationships and opportunities with customers
Exhibits strong commitment to customer service, both internal and external, loyalty to Big-D, in fulfillment of Big-D's stewardship/mission
Leads all preconstruction services for their projects
Directs all professional staff in the preconstruction process and leads their teams in such a way to maximize the contributions of each team member
Provides continuous project oversight during the design and preconstruction phase
Fosters collaboration within the project team
Ultimately accountable for accurate estimates, cost studies, benchmarking, and team participation as necessary to gain approval for the project to proceed into construction
Works with the Project Director and project management team to ensure a successful transition from preconstruction to construction
Acts as the primary owner contact throughout preconstruction
Recognize the skills of project personnel, nominating worthy individuals for Big-D awards and advancement
Recruit high caliber personnel from outside sources to work at Big-D
Supports Big-D's mission and values as well as all policies and procedures
Critical Skills
Ability to coach, mentor and teach team members
Proficient in Prolog, Timberline, OST, P6, Bluebeam, MS Office
Excellent computer skills
Ability to communicate at a high level
Good time management skills and excellent attention to detail
Work well in a team environment
Design management Skills
Understanding of construction cost and is aware of current market conditions
