Are you a seasoned Mainframe Systems Programmer / DBA with strong experience in ADABAS, IMS, DB2, and CICS? We're hiring for a highly impactful role supporting large-scale, mission-critical systems in a public sector environment.This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex legacy systems, drive database modernization efforts, and play a key role in maintaining high-availability infrastructure.What You'll DoLead and support installation, configuration, and upgrades of core database systems (IMS, DB2, ADABAS)Manage and maintain mainframe database environments on IBM z/OSPerform database design (logical & physical) and capacity planningMonitor and optimize database performance, storage, and availabilityDevelop and execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategiesConduct system health checks, tuning, and troubleshootingCollaborate with application development teams (COBOL/NATURAL) on design and performance improvementsPerform evaluations and implement enhancements for DBMS tools and environmentsSupport production systems and ensure stability in high-transaction environmentsRequired Skills & TechnologiesMainframe Platform: IBM z/OSDatabases: IMS (DB/DC), DB2, ADABASTransaction Processing: CICSLanguages/Scripting: COBOL, Assembler, REXX, JCLTools & Utilities: SMP/E, BMC Tools, IBM File Manager, CA SpoolAdditional Technologies: NATURAL, SUPERNAT, ENTIREX, DELTA/IMS, N2O/TRIMSecurity: ACF2 / NAT SecurityWhat We're Looking For7+ years of experience as a Systems Programmer / DBA in mainframe environmentsAt least 3 years in a lead or senior technical roleStrong expertise in legacy database systems and performance tuningExperience supporting large, complex enterprise or government systemsAbility to work cross-functionally with development and operations teamsEducationBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
