Lead Bartender The Bluebird Cocktail Room – Baltimore, MD The Bluebird is Baltimore’s destination for elevated cocktail experiences, combining inventive beverages, a scratch bar approach, local ingredients, and exceptional hospitality. Located alongside The Green Room, our versatile event space, we offer a dynamic environment for cocktail enthusiasts, live entertainment, and special occasions. We are seeking an experienced Lead Bartender to help uphold the execution, consistency, and quality of our bar program. This is a hands-on, hourly position plus tips for a seasoned bartender who takes pride in craft, organization, and setting the standard behind the bar. Responsibilities Bar Program & Product Uphold consistency and quality across all cocktails, specs, and builds Oversee bar prep, batching, garnishes, and mise en place Maintain proper bar technique, presentation, and adherence to house standards Assist with menu rollouts, recipe documentation, and seasonal changes Inventory & Ordering Conduct or assist with regular bar inventory counts Maintain par levels and communicate ordering needs Place or prepare bar orders following established guidelines Monitor product usage, waste, and breakage Cleanliness & Organization Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and well-run bar Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of all products Identify equipment or maintenance issues and communicate them promptly Training & Consistency Train and onboard new bartenders Coach bartenders on technique, speed, consistency, and hospitality Serve as a point of reference during service for bar standards and execution Lead by example during high-volume and event shifts Service Deliver high-quality cocktails and exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment Work both weekday and weekend shifts as required, including Fridays and Saturdays Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience, preferably in a craft or high-volume cocktail environment Strong knowledge of bar operations, prep systems, and proper technique Experience with inventory, ordering, and bar organization Passion for the craft of cocktails and attention to detail Confident, collaborative presence behind the bar Must be of legal drinking age Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Paid training Vision insurance Work Location: In person
