Strategic Planning Analyst 2 (Environmental Promotion Office)Strategic Planning Analyst 2 (Environmental Promotion Office) will actively participate in broad-based analysis. This includes demonstrating a basic understanding of macroeconomic trends and their impact on our business model. Candidates will work closely with business units and divisions to develop excel-based decision models, and take part in cross-functional projects, meet due dates, and deliver on time. The ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative research using macro to micro level data will be an important component in order to develop business cases for business transformation to support core strategies. Candidates will be expected to communicate effectively, work well in groups, and accept and implement feedback from superiors and peers. This position has high visibility to senior levels of management.
Position Responsibilities:
Data Engineering
Codes in cloud and other environments (Snowflake, Databricks, Matillion, SSMS) to perform basic ETL operations on data sets (e.g., using Python or SQL)
Data Analysis
Works with various data sources individually to provide analysis, as directed
Breaks down micro-level problems into key components; able to understand macro-level problems
Gathers and summarizes qualitative data through various methods, with support
Uses familiarity with data to contribute specified pieces of story through PowerPoint or other written means, with supervision
Project Management
Creatively contributes to project deliverables, with support
Assists with communication and planning of projects
Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
Nature & Scope:
Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision
Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals
Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions
Knowledge & Skills Data Engineering
Familiar with multiple data transformation (ETL) tools, including one or more cloud technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, Matillion)
Data Analysis
Uses attention to detail and correct mathematics to produce accurate data analysis
Able to recognize when help is needed to complete analysis properly
Project Management
Understands and can communicate at a detailed level about complex concepts
Competencies Data Engineering
Implements simple systems within a reasonable timeframe. Capable of learning to build robust and complex systems
Data Analysis
Adds clarity to complicated data through visualization techniques, given sufficient time and feedback
Can prepare a variety of visualizations (in Tableau) and possesses some troubleshooting capability
Performs exploratory analysis and provides cuts of data to address specific questions
Project Management
When presenting, understands context of prepared content sufficiently to answer unanticipated questions
Experience:
3-5 years prior relevant experience (Data Engineering, Data Science, Data/Business Analysis, Consulting)
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree (Quantitative: Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Other STEM)
MBA preferred
