Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

Job OverviewReporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach supports all functions/activities associated with Winthrop's NCAA Division 1 Women's Lacrosse program, including coaching and player development, recruiting, team operations and administration, and social media and fundraising, and is responsible for adhering to all NCAA, Big South Conference and university rules and policies.Required QualificationsWomen's lacrosse coaching experience.Valid driver's license.Preferred QualificationsCollege-level women's lacrosse coaching experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities SummaryKnowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations and the ability to apply them.Effective organizational and communication skills.Ability to pass the NCAA recruiting test.Ability to successfully mentor and coach student-athletes to compete at high levels.Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff, student-athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds.Ability to work flexible hours.ResponsibilitiesCoaches and develops the team's student-athletes.Assists with game strategy, position techniques and training.Recruits student athletes, including identifying, evaluating and building relationships with prospects.Monitors team members' academic progress and mentors them as needed to achieve individual and team academic goals.Collaborates with individuals and areas within athletics and across campus to ensure student-athlete success.Assists with administrative functions, including budget and equipment management, social media and fundraising.Work ScheduleEvening and weekend work and extensive travel, including overnight.TelecommutingEmployees are not eligible for telecommuting/remote work during their 12-month probationary period.
