Brief DescriptionSummary of Primary Purpose:Harvest desires to prepare pastors and ministry leaders for the work of ministry in the church. The purpose of the Ministry Resident is to receive proper ministry preparation and practice with the support of the academy (Grace Seminary) or a similar program through an intentional 2-to-4-year program (depending on one’s degree).This training takes the Resident through (1) significant ministry responsibilities connected to their Ministry areas of responsibility at Harvest Bible Chapel; (2) rigorous academic study and projects in order to develop and demonstrate the outcomes for Grace Seminary’s Deploy Program or a similar program.Scope Of RoleMay oversee volunteersEssential Roles & Responsibilities, Included But Not Limited ToMaintain consistent academic progress through Grace’s Deploy program or a similar program, in both the number of academic Modules per semester as well as Competency Grades per Modules (B or better). The specifics of the academic focus may vary from Resident to Resident. Supply strong support for the Ministry area(s) specific to your Harvest connections. This will vary from Resident to Resident. It may include a Campus Focus (like Rolling Meadows or Aurora) or a Ministry Focus (like Harvest Young Adults). Ministry Duties/ExpectationsPersonal and growing relationship with Jesus and a humility to testify to it Ability to explain “What Harvest Bible Chapel Believes” Ability to pray with other employee’s, guest and attenders of the church Be an active, engaged and accountable in the congregational life at Harvest Bible Chapel Meeting regularly with Deploy Mentors/Pastors (Academic, Ministry, and Formation Mentors) for assessment in academic, ministry and Spiritual progress. The specifics of the academic focus may vary from Resident to Resident.Skills/Knowledge RequiredA strong penchant for discipleship, serving, equipping, learning, and leading A strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely A strong doctrinal agreement with church leadership on primary and secondary level beliefs Is known to have a lifestyle that honors and uplifts the name of Christ A teachable self-starter with adequate ministry experience to serve HBC well Ability to lead and follow direction Decision making capability based upon Church doctrine and policy/procedure A love for God, His Church, and His world with a passion to grow in knowledge, character, and skill Education And ExperienceA Bachelor's degree or equivalent to be admitted to Grace Theological Seminary or a similar program.Prerequisite to acceptance: Successful admission into Grace Theological Seminary Deploy Program or a similar program.
