VG3 Technician - Day Shift

VG3 Technician - Full Time (hourly; non-exempt)Location: 7667 Lupine Ln., Victor, IDReports to: Supply Chain ManagerAt New West KnifeWorks, our mission is to make the finest knives in the world. The VG3 Technician is a key player in our production process, working directly with the 2nd shift VG3 Operator to ensure continued completion of knives and fixtures.About you:Experienced with (or interest in using) manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machinesExcellent manual dexterity, accuracy, attention to detail, and protocol followingAbility to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurementsKnowledge of metal properties and other materialAble to communicate proactively to discuss and solve challengesDriven to learn and constantly improveWhat you’ll do:Operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to cut and produce precision knives and fixturesLoad parts onto CNC machinesLearn and understand machine functionality and associated softwareKeep track of daily totals finishedVerify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessaryPerforms routine maintenance tasks on machines as requiredCollaborate with VG3 Operator/ R&D Engineer to assess problems as neededPerform machine function switch overs to continue machining processPerform machine and fixture set up to change Knife SKUIdentify and solve basic problems and issues as they ariseContinue temporary operation of machining in absence of department leadResponsible for cleaning and upkeep of the VG3 spaceAfter training period, operate during day shift independently (7am-3pm)Compensation & Benefits:$24-25/hr DOEComprehensive medical, dental, & vision insurance + dependent care FSA*401(k) + 4% company match (6-month eligibility waiting period applies)Flexible time off + flexible hoursPaid parental leaveGenerous employee discount + friends & family discountDiscount programs with partner organizations such as Kuhl60-day waiting period; then, eligible on 1st of following month
