CNA (Client Care Aide I)This position is open to current Colorado residents only. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple vacancies, including both part-time and full-time positions. This position will receive a short-staffing temporary pay differential of 4% from July 1st 2025 - June 30th 2026.Office of Adult, Aging, and Disability Services Colorado Veterans Community Living Center at Fitzsimons Colorado Veterans Community Living Center (VCLC) at Fitzsimons is a beautiful 180-bed, skilled nursing facility serving Colorado's veterans. At Fitzsimons, we provide long-term care and short-term rehab and have a secure memory care neighborhood. We are conveniently located on the medical campus with UC Hospital and the Aurora VA Medical Center. Fitzsimons celebrates a low 14% staff turnover rate and substantial longevity among staff.Description of JobWhile in this position, you are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times. Please note: Work arrangements are subject to change at any time. As a CNA (Client Care Aide I) you will provide basic hands-on patient/resident care in a safe, clean, infection controlled environment by bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, skin care, range of motion, positioning, ambulating, transferring, toileting programs, feeding programs, transporting, performing basic assessments (vital signs, blood pressures, weights, etc.), and charting/documenting all of the above. This is a fully operational position responsible for performing the full range of client care aide tasks and problem-solving. Job duties include, but are not limited to:Provide direct resident care, including bathing, dressing, undressing, assisting in and out of bed, performing personal hygiene, feeding programs, toileting programs, range of motion, transporting, and interacting socially to meet residents' basic needs.Explain patient care before, during, and after contactsAnswer call lightsAssess basic resident care needs and report to the charge nurse any change in the resident's conditionPerform basic resident observations, vital signs, blood pressure, weight, intake and output, and basic skin assessments.Provide infection control, implement/using universal precautions, and dispose of waste.Clean linen room and equipment, stock supplies, and complete supply formsCorrect use of safety/positioning devices, side rails, transfer belts, and proper use of all equipmentAttend ongoing staff education programsOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal RightsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)Substitutions:Current, valid certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies will substitute for the high school diploma or GEDSpecial Qualifications:Must hold and maintain an active CNA certification in good standing from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, as well as a current BLS Healthcare Provider Card.Conditions of Employment:FULL BACKGROUND CHECK: This position will have direct contact with vulnerable persons (as defined by C.R.S.27-90-111: "Direct contact" means providing face-to-face care, training, supervision, counseling, consultation, or medication assistance to vulnerable persons, regardless of the level of supervision of the department employee.
