As a HVAC Installer at Ackermann Group, you will be responsible for supporting installation and replacement of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a portfolio of multi-family residential properties throughout our Columbus portfolio. This role is ideal for candidates looking to grow their HVAC career within a structured, professional property management environment. The HVAC Installer will work under the direction of the Regional Facilities Director while adhering to company standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilites include:Installation and replacement of HVAC systems in multi-family residential units, including apartments and common areasSupport setup of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and related components according to specificationsFollow standardized installation procedures to ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and company guidelinesPerform basic system testing to confirm proper operation following installationMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in occupied residential settingsCommunicate professionally with supervisors, property management staff, and on-site teamsAccurately document work performed, materials used, and installation detailsProperly use, maintain, and care for company tools and equipmentThe ideal HVAC Installer will have:Willingness/ability to frequently travel to properties throughout our portfolio in the greater Columbus areaHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic mechanical aptitude and interest in HVAC systemsEPA Section 608 Certification, type II minimum required.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces such as attics, crawl spaces, and mechanical roomsAbility to follow instructions, safety procedures, and company policies.Familiarity with R22, R410A, R454B and R32.The ability uses a variety of different torches to braze.Be able to manipulate copper line sets.Familiarity with digital gauges along with manifold gauges.Prior HVAC training, trade school coursework, or hands-on experience preferredExperience working in apartment communities or multi-family housing preferredFamiliarity with basic electrical and mechanical concepts preferredStrong reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learnWe are proud to offer many Benefits & Perks at Ackermann Group including:Competitive hourly compensation + quarterly bonus and lease renewal commission potentialHealth benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance401k retirement program with company matchPaid time off including sick, vacation, holidays, and your birthday!Employee rent discount to live at any Ackermann communityCareer coaching and developmentCompany engagement events
