Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.Interpret assessment data and determine eligibility for speech and language services.Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on students' IEPs.Provide direct speech and language therapy in individual and group settings.Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.Track and record student progress and behaviors, reporting updates to the Special Education teacher and other relevant staff.Communicate effectively with teachers, specialists, administrators, and families as necessary to support student progress and needs.Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise on speech and language development.Provide staff development and consultation on speech-language strategies in the classroom.Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including IDEA and FERPA.Prepare required documentation for Medicaid reimbursement, when applicable.Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines in handling student information and records.Work collaboratively with special education teachers, general education teachers, and other staff members.Participates in professional development and building level staff meetings per the direction of the building principal.Stay informed of current research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.Other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Strong knowledge of speech, language, and communication development.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Strong organizational and time-management skills.WORKING CONDITIONS:Primarily works in a school environment with students ranging in age and ability.May require occasional lifting of materials and equipment.Ability to travel between school sites if needed.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 181 Day CalendarFLSA STATUS: Exempt- CertifiedSALARY: See salary schedule (on website)TO APPLY: Please submit an online application packet.Applications available at www.mssd14.orgIn compliance with Titles VI & VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008, and Colorado law, Manitou Springs School District 14 does not unlawfully discriminate against otherwise qualified students, employees, applicants for employment, or members of the public on the basis of disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, national origin, religion, ancestry, or need for special education services.
