Fiber Cable Technician

A Cable Installation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable systems, including television, internet, and telephone services. Their work involves handling various types of cables, ensuring connectivity, and providing customer support for any technical issues. Key Responsibilities: Installation and Configuration Install and configure cable systems, including internet, telephone, and television services. Perform tests to ensure cable connections are working correctly and that clients receive the expected service quality. Set up and install devices such as modems, routers, set-top boxes, and other related equipment. Maintenance and Troubleshooting Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, signal strength, and hardware malfunctions. Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to ensure efficient network performance. Inspect, replace, and repair defective equipment or cables. Customer Interaction Provide support and technical guidance to customers on the proper usage of installed systems. Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding the performance of their cable services. Ensure customer satisfaction by explaining services and assisting with any immediate issues. Safety and Compliance Follow all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Ensure compliance with installation guidelines and site-specific regulations. Use protective equipment and tools responsibly to ensure a safe work environment. Requirements: Valid driver’s license and Social Security card. Clean background check. Reliable vehicle: van, minivan, or pickup truck. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with fiber cable systems is required. Need to have own tools and ladder.
