Electrician II
Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for an Electrician II to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 270.
The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become possible or required, and may also be requested or mandatory on Saturdays.
All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints, schematic and wiring drawings.
Troubleshoot basic PLC operations.
Install and maintain wiring and lighting systems with the assistance of qualified maintenance personnel.
Inspect electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and circuit boards.
Identify electrical problems using testing equipment.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures with hand and power tools.
Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department.
Use the basic types of electrician tools required for assigned tasks.
Work under final inspection.
Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
Work in the Foundry and on split shifts when needed.
Possess working knowledge of 240-V, 3-phase, 110-volt AC and DC.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and experience – One year certificate from college or technical school; or 6-12 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination.
Language skills – Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; communicate effectively.
Mathematical skills – Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Reasoning ability – Apply common sense to carry out written, oral or diagram instructions; deal effectively with routine problems.
Physical demands – Stand or walk 100% of the shift; frequent bending and lifting 30-40 lb; occasional lifts up to 70 lb unassisted or assisted.
Work environment – Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, loud noise level.
