Program Support Coordinator

The Program Support Coordinator is responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment that supports student well-being, academic success, and social-emotional development. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to improve school culture, address behavioral concerns, promote equity and inclusion, and engage students, staff, and families in creating a supportive learning community. School Climate and Culture Development: Lead efforts to assess and improve school climate through surveys, focus groups, and data analysis. Develop and implement programs that promote a positive school culture, student engagement, and staff morale. Ensure that school policies and practices align with restorative justice principles, trauma-informed approaches, and social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies. Collaborate with school leadership to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices into school culture. Behavioral Support and Intervention: Establish and oversee a proactive, data-driven approach to behavior management that reduces suspensions, expulsions, and disciplinary referrals. Support teachers in implementing positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) and restorative justice practices. Provide conflict resolution training and mediation for students and staff. Develop school-wide initiatives to prevent bullying, harassment, and discrimination. Student and Family Engagement: Serve as a liaison between the school and families to address concerns related to school climate and student well-being. Develop workshops, events, and communication strategies to enhance parent and community engagement. Partner with student leadership groups to amplify student voice in shaping school culture. Professional Development and Training: Design and facilitate professional development for teachers and staff on SEL, trauma-informed practices, culturally responsive teaching, and conflict resolution. Support staff in creating inclusive, engaging classrooms that reflect students' diverse identities and experiences. Data Collection and Reporting: Monitor and analyze school climate data, discipline trends, and student engagement metrics to guide decision-making. Prepare reports and recommendations for school leadership and stakeholders on climate-related initiatives. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies regarding school climate, discipline, and student rights.
