Co-Op - Engineering - Cheraw 2 - Summer 2026
Your Key ResponsibilitiesCo-ops who are earlier in their academic journey and complete a successful rotation may be invited back during other semesters or summers to work with us again! The successful co-op student will be provided with a project charter and description during their onboarding process. The co-op will provide key deliverables in their assigned area at the end of their co-op assignment. Project examples include (but are not limited to):Define and document process parametersQuantify and lead actions needed for scrap reductionImprove effectiveness and efficiency of key machinery in high volume work areasParticipants should be responsible, able to work independently, and open to instructionS/he will be given developmental opportunities through tasks such as projects, job-rotation, hands-on training, and exposure to Schaeffler's manufacturing and technological processesLearn, understand, and adhere to the current specifications of the Quality Policy and Procedures and contribute to the achievement of quality objectivesYour QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be pursuing an academic degree (preferably in automotive, industrial, or mechanical engineering)Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semesterExperience in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience utilizing written and verbal communicationsExtremely self-motivated & driven to achieve resultsAssertive approach to solving problemsAbility to prioritizeThe ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods, and lift and move thirty poundsExternal applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorshipOur Offering
